Kaptár, funded by a group of young experts in organisation development, training and coaching is a coworking space and community office in the heart of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The founders' main goal was to create a professional, yet homely and supportive space for freelancers, digital nomads and smaller companies.
Kaptár provides services for the coworkers in exchange of membership fees. Coworkers can chose from packages that include seat services, the usage of meeting rooms, event halls, headquarter services.
The Kaptár team operates a network of current and former members whose aim is to provide a platform where members help each other with information or other type of mutual support.
Community events are taking place on a weekly basis in Kaptár. These include lunches, dinners, intercultural nights, common sport programmes or hangouts. Kaptár occasionally organizes professional workshops on diverse topics upon at the demand of the coworkers. An important principle in the management of the office is that members are free to engage in community activities as much and as often as they feel like.
Co-workers have diverse backgrounds, personalities and motivations in Kaptár and they can differ in whether they prioritise community membership or productivity. The most important common characteristic is that they have no fixed working space and they are free to decide where they would like to work from.
