In many countries, Uber has succeeded to frame its operations as "sharing economy" to gain competitive advantage over the traditional taxi services. Taxis usually have to acquire a high-cost licence, pay costly insurance, invest in taximeters etc. Meanwhile, Uber has invested a lot of money in lobbying politicians to facilitate its own operating rules. In Finland, after the deregulation reform The Act on Transport Services (July 2018), the taxis and Uber operate under the same law -- at least in principle.
